How Ink Obsessions LLC (“Ink Obsessions”, “we”) collects, uses and protects your information. Last updated October 11, 2026.

WHAT WE COLLECT

When you send a booking request or book an appointment we collect your name, email address and phone number; the details of your tattoo idea (description, placement, size, style, preferred dates, and any reference images you upload); your answers to the artist's questions; and the health disclosure and consent forms you sign before your session. At your session we record your date of birth and address from your photo ID (we don't keep a copy of the ID), a description of your tattoo, and the aftercare instructions you were given. We keep a record of your appointments and payments.

When you text or call us, we keep your phone number, the messages you send and receive, and any voicemail you leave.

HOW WE USE IT

Only to review your request, schedule and prepare your tattoo, reply to you and contact you about your booking (confirmations, reminders and messages from your artist), take payment, and keep the records a studio is required to keep. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

HEALTH INFORMATION AND PROCEDURE RECORDS

Minnesota law (Minn. Stat. ch. 146B) requires a signed health disclosure and informed consent before every tattoo, and a record of each procedure. Your health answers, date of birth and address are stored encrypted. Your health answers can be read only by your artist and the studio's owner, and each time they are opened it is logged; the front desk sees only whether your form is complete.

We keep each procedure record, with your signed forms, for at least three years, and show it to the Minnesota Department of Health if it asks, as the law requires. These records can't be deleted on request during that time.

TEXT MESSAGES

If you text us, ask for a booking link on our phone line, or tick “Text me appointment updates” on our booking form, we use your mobile number and your messages only to reply to you and to text you about your booking, appointments and aftercare (including appointment confirmations and reminders if you opted in). We keep a record of when and how you opted in or out, with the wording you agreed to.

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party. Our messaging provider (Twilio) handles your number and messages only to deliver them for us.

CALLS & VOICEMAIL

Our phone menu is run by Twilio. If you leave a voicemail, it is recorded and transcribed by a speech-to-text service (OpenAI), which processes the recording only to write the transcript, so the right person at the studio can hear or read it. Voicemails are available only to studio staff. Recordings are deleted after 90 days; the written transcript is kept with your client record. We also keep a short log of calls to the studio (your number, when you called and whether you left a message) so we can call back anyone we missed.

YOUR CHOICES

You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information by emailing info@inkobsessions.com. Some records, such as payments, signed health and consent forms, and procedure records (kept at least three years under Minnesota law), need to be kept for legal and tax reasons.
